3ivx Technologies demonstrates Real-Time 1080HD MPEG-4 Multicore Encoding and live RTP Streaming at CeBIT 2008
Sydney, Australia, May 20, 2008 - 3ivx Technologies Pty. Ltd., the MPEG-4 Video & Audio specialist, demonstrates Real-Time 1080HD MPEG-4 Multi-core Encoding and live RTP Streaming, as well as forthcoming H.264 technologies at CeBIT 2008. These new technologies build on the already solid commercial media platform provided by the 3ivx MPEG-4 compression suite for Windows, Mac OS X & Linux.
3ivx’s compression technology enables the transmission and storage of video which would otherwise be too large to store or transmit. 3ivx MPEG-4 consists of separate MPEG-4 Audio, MPEG-4 Video and MP4 File Format components for authoring and playback of MPEG-4 media. New additions to the 3ivx compression suite include RTP Streaming components, H.264 encoding and multi-core encoding optimizations.
The strength of the 3ivx MPEG-4 codec lies in its unique combination of image quality, performance, interoperability and portability.
Demonstrations at CeBIT 2008
In partnership with Intel, 3ivx has engaged in targeted R&D to optimize the 3ivx MPEG-4 Video Encoder Core to fully utilize Intel's high-performance multi-core CPUs. This work has made real-time encoding of 1080 HD Video a reality.
3ivx RTP Streaming components support streaming of MPEG-4 and H.264 to QuickTime and other media devices over the Internet. The 3ivx Multi-core Video Encoder and Streaming components deliver real-time Full HD encoding and streaming that is flexible and easy to integrate.
3ivx Technologies will be exhibiting at CeBIT 2008, 20-22nd May, at Sydney’s Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre, Booth #T50, Hall 5. Technical consultants from 3ivx will be available to answer MPEG-4 and H.264 related questions at the show.
